The advantages of LED lighting

LED lighting has been used more and more frequently in recent years. People choose to replace their light bulbs and halogen lamps for LED lamps. But why? What are the benefits of LED lighting?

1. Energy is saved with LED lighting

LED lamps consume 80 to 90% less energy than halogen bulbs. LED lamps are a little more expensive, but due to the huge energy savings they pay off quickly. Plus, LED lighting lasts even longer, so it’s a double profit Transco.

2. LED lighting lasts a long time

LED lighting has a much longer lifespan than traditional lighting. LED lamps last between 15,000 and 50,000 hours. If a light is on for 8 hours a day and lasts for 30,000 hours, it means it will last more than 10 years. For comparison: an incandescent lamp lasts about 1000 hours, a halogen lamp 2000 and an energy saving lamp 5000 hours. The LED lights are therefore the most durable.

3. LED bulbs do not heat up

Halogen bulbs get extremely hot. You can’t touch them because you can easily burn your hands. As these bulbs get so hot, they can also cause a fire and dark spots on the wall or ceiling. LED lamps only get a little warm and don’t cause these kinds of problems.

4. LED lighting is available in different colors and temperatures

In the past, LED lighting was inconvenient because it was only available in cool, bright white color. In the meantime you can get LED lighting in almost all possible colors. Everything is possible when it comes to color temperature. With halogen bulbs, the color temperature in Kelvin is more or less fixed (warm), but LED bulbs can be in different color temperatures. Both warm and cold lighting is possible.

5. LED lighting has no access time

This was normal with energy-saving light bulbs. You walk into a dark room, turn on the lamp and the first minute you still don’t see anything because the lamp has to heat up first. When the light bulb shines, you are already out of space. This is not the case with LED lighting. The LED lamps are immediately 100% switched on.

6. LED lighting is environmentally friendly

LED lighting is much greener than all other types of lighting. LED lighting lasts longer and consumes much less energy, making LED lights better for the environment. Furthermore, LED lamps do not even contain toxic mercury like low energy bulbs and this also makes them better for the environment.
